The Laura Ingalls Wilder Home and Museum in Mansfield, Missouri; would like to send our condolences to the family of Mrs. Burns. Her name holds a place of honor in our museum building on our Giving Tree. A leaf was added to our tree some years back because all of her students got together to honor her in this way. We are grateful to Mrs. Burns for her love and devotion to the writings of Laura Ingalls Wilder and for introducing those beloved stories to many generations.
We are so very sorry for your loss.

She was one of the best and all three of our daughters had her in the third grade at the North School. Her love of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books led to our girls loving the books too. They could not wait for the chapter after lunch. RIP Janet....
Very privileged to say I was one she had in her first 3rd grade class in Carlinville and my daughter was in her last class! We have all remained friends to this day with her entire family as well. Rest in peace, Janet. You lived life well!
Sorry for your loss! Your mother was a great lady and her guidance in my earlier years made me who I am. Sending prayers to your family.. She will be truly missed.
