I have wonderful memories of Mrs. Burns as my third grade teacher at North Elementary School. I also have wonderful memories of her as the mother of one of my closest friends, Tim, and his siblings Dan and Coleen. I didn't realize until recently that Mrs. Burns was only in her second year of teaching third grade when I was in her class. She was already very accomplished in only her second year!

My condolences to Tim, Dan and Colleen as well to Mrs. Burns' grandchildren and extended family.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Janet- a life well lived! She was my god mother:). She was very excited and supportive when I began studying to become a teacher. In my first year teaching she sent me a Flat Stanley!

We are so sad that our dear friend, Janet, has passed away! She always treated us like family. We loved her so much. She helped us celebrate birthdays, holidays, and cookouts at our house. She never forgot to bring shrimp cocktail, and we supplied the wine! She will forever be in our hearts! We are rejoicing that she is suffering no more. We hope one day to see her again in heaven! Rest In Peace, Dear Janet!

Like Dave B., I too am honored to have been a member of the original 3rd grade class. We have been and remain close friends with the entire family. Mrs. Burns was a wonderful teacher both in and out of the classroom. Our sincere condolences.
