Kathy, Bill, and Julie
Your parents moved into their home in the late 1950's when Frank, Bill and I were the noisy and nosy boys next door. Bill and Linda were tolerant of us then and became cherished friends to our parents and to us as we grew older.
After our Dad died and we left home, your Dad kept an eye on our Mom in the most wonderful way. They watched Cardinal games together and Bill would look to see that Mom's shade was up in the morning, a signal that she was up and moving and okay. That day that she fell and couldn't get up, Bill saw that the shade was still drawn and went to her rescue. That's probably symbolic of his attention to everyone in his life - present but unobtrusive and there when needed.
Our hearts go out to you in your sorrow. Be aware that your parents were special to our family and that your Dad has been a delightful presence in our lives over the years. He will be missed.
