Obituary of Ben Pagel

Benjamin Franklin Pagel Sr., 65 of Auburn, IL passed away Friday morning, August 18, 2023, at Nokomis Rehab in Nokomis, IL. Ben was born January 24, 1958, in Peoria, IL, a son of Bert and Martha (Martin) Brown and later adopted by Harley Pagel. He married Barbara (Morris) and after 20 years of marriage, they divorced. Ben worked in the health care industry as a CNA at several of the area nursing homes. He spent a lot of his free time fishing. Member of the United Pentecostal Church in Virden, IL. He was preceded in death by his birth father, Bert Brown, father Harley Pagel, daughter, Tiffany Pagel who was 9 years old and grandson Noah Pagel. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00am at the United Pentecostal Church, 402 East Jackson St., Virden, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00am Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the church, with Rev. James McGee officiating. Ben is survived by his mother, Martha Pagel of Lincoln, IL, daughter, Carrie (Aaron) Broida of Springfield, IL, daughter, Holly Cockerill of Nokomis, IL, son, Ben Pagel, Jr. of Nokomis, IL, son, Jacob "Jake" (Dreana) Pagel of KY, son, Dan (Jessica) Morris of Weldon, IL, 11 grandchildren, brother, Jonathan (Tammy) Pagel of Clinton, IL, sister, Sheila Brown of Gatewood, MO, sister, Janet (Brian) Ratcliff of Washburn, IL, sister, Brenda Terrell Mt.View, MO, sister, Rebecca Hoots of Lincoln, IL, brother, Scott (Debbie) Pagel of St.Charles, MO, sister, Tracey (Kevin) Morgan of South Haven, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
