Obituary of Terry W. Clark

Terry Wayne Clark, 74, of Standard City, passed away Thursday night, December 22, 2022 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Terry was born on December 17, 1948 to Howard and Naoma (Jackson) Clark in Litchfield, IL. On March 3, 1968 he married Sarah Beard at the Auburn Baptist Church. Terry attended Carlinville Schools. Because Terry enjoyed being outdoors, he became an excavating contractor and has done a great deal of work in this area. Terry was the Nilwood Township Road Commissioner for 20 years and the Mayor of Standard City for 20 years. He loved working and was an avid deer hunter. Terry is survived by his wife, Sarah, two daughters; Rose Heltsley of Girard, IL and Tammy Pauley of Auburn, IL; two sons, Paul Seago of Coffeen, IL and Jeff (Sarah) Seago of Girard, IL; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Donna Burnett of Girard, IL; several nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Howard E. Clark, Sr. and Naoma Clark; sisters, Bonnie Gibson, Marilyn Garrison, Sharon Ayala, Cheri Boehler, Janice Allen, Judy Clark, Christina Clark, and Karen Adcock; brother, Howard "Butch" Clark, Jr. Visitation will be held Monday, December 26, 2022, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2022, 12:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL, with Rev. Ron Schaaff officiating. Burial will take place in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard is in charge of arrangements.
