Obituary of Jesse Quinton Osborne

Jesse Quinton Osborne, age 83 of Girard, passed away Sunday evening, January 31, 2016, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Jesse was born March 21, 1932, in Columbus, GA, a son of Jesse Mack and Lessie Ophelia (Miller) Osborne Wallace.
He married Phyllis Pearl (Ersery) September 6, 1951 in Alabama and she passed away November 25, 2015.
Jesse started a career in the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired with over 23 years of active service. He later worked as a general contractor until his retirement.
Jesse enjoyed singing, gospel bluegrass music, farming, gardening, playing guitar, and carpentry.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a grandchild.
Private family services will be held at the Girard Cemetery. The Virden American Legion Post #386 will conduct military honors at the graveside.
Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery.
Jesse is survived by his daughter, Marie (Gene) Skeen of Sebastain, FL, daughter, Judy (Steve) Pugh of Joanna, SC, son, Jerry (Mary) Osborne of Locust Grove, GA, son, James (Debbie) Osborne of St. Cloud, FL, daughter, Janice (Scott) Bokanyi of Woodstock, VA, son, Jeff Osborne of Chicago, IL, daughter, Jill Diane Osborne of Girard, IL, 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Girard Fire and Rescue Squad.
