Condolences
I am very sorry to hear of Nora's passing. She participated in a training program with me over several years. She was always positive and had such good humor. She was also very dedicated to her job with Extension in helping communities. It is a shock that she would pass away at such a young age.
My condolences to the family for your great loss. May her spirit live among us and may she rest in peace.

Deeply sorry for the loss of Nora. No doubt she will be missed by many.
Draw comfort from God’s words at John 5:28, 29 where it reads “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus’] voice and come out”.
We would like to encourage you to visit www.jw.org to learn more of God's promises for all mankind that are sure to take place in the very near future.
I am so sorry for your loss. May the love of family and friends continue to comfort you at this time. One thing that I have personally found that helps me to cope when I lose a loved one is the promises held out in the Bible such as the ones found at John 5:28,29 Were we see that God is going to bring back all those sleeping in death. Also at Revelation 21:4 God promises that he is going to eliminate all sickness, sorrow, pain, and death forever. It is my sincere hope that these thoughts bring your family comfort at this time. Once again i am so sorry for your loss. www.JW.org

My sincerest condolences on loss of your mom, daughter, sister and friend. Nora and I worked together with U of I Extension for many years. We often roomed together at Team meetings and conferences. She is a smart, kind, funny woman with a huge heart and great spirit. Losing Nora at such a young age and so suddenly reminds me of how precious life is. She is gone way way too soon.
Sincerely, Laura Payne

I am so very sorry for your loss. I am in shock and my heart is breaking for all of you. I work for the Monroe County Commissioners and the first day Nora and I met, we were instant friends. We confided in each other with our ups and downs, joked with each other constantly, doted on our kids and just enjoyed each other's friendship. She was a very hardworking girl, a spitfire (I got a kick out of her choice of words, I could relate to that) and loved MJ to pieces. I will miss her so much. Heaven definitely has a wonderful angel in Nora. Love you friend! Sheila
My family and I are so sorry for the untimely loss of your daughter, sister, aunt and friend. We can never rationalize events such as this, but you do have friends in the family of Christ that do share in your sadness.

Shocked and deeply saddened by the news that Nora has passed away. I met her on a business level through Think Monroe County First but got to know her on a personal level as well. She was a fellow animal lover like myself. Very sad news that has brought tears to my eyes this morning. May you rest in peace, sweet lady!
Our Thoughts and prayers are with everyone. Nora was always a bright and lovely person! Her laughter will be missed.

Dear Madeleine,
We are devastated by the passing of your mother and our beloved niece. Take pride in the knowledge that your mother was admired by so many. We will miss her warm personality that never failed to light up the space around her.
Nora was a great member of the University of Illinois Extension staff! Her educational contributions, support to colleagues, knowledge and skills to enhance local community businesses was tremendous. We will always recognize and appreciate her friendliness, enthusiasm and team spirit! Our thoughts are with M.J., Marty, her family and extended family of many friends.

What a beautiful soul, I can still hear her laugh and see her smile. I am a friend of hers from Memphis Tn. She and I worked together at the Desoto Times newspaper back in the 80's. My thought and prayers are with your family.
As the mother of one of Nora's classmates, I remember her as a beautiful girl. My heart aches for her daughter, parents, family, Marty, and close friends whose lives she touched in a meaningful way. May each of you feel both her and His presence in the days to come. You will be lifted up in prayer by many in the days ahead.
No words can express the emptiness I feel over the loss of my friend and colleague, Nora. Each of us served in different parts of the State, so our time together was limited, but none the less special. Our last time together was at the Annual Conference in Champaign and my last text message from her was a picture of me she took at the awards ceremony.
She was a shining star, a great mother, a crusader for equality, and a dear friend!
My deepest condolences to her family!

My deepest condolences to the entire family. Nora was an awesome person and will be missed so much by everyone who knew her.
I'm so sorry for your loss! Did you know that soon you'll be reunited with your loved again! The bible says at John 5:28,29... "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to resurrection of life... How comforting that is to be with your loved one again! www.JW.org
I am saddened to learn of Nora's passing. She was a true asset to University of Illinois Extension and the Community Econonic Development Team. Her smiles and pleasant personality enabled her to easily establish networks and relationships in the respective communities she served.
Praying God's comfort over you - may His eyes see each tear you cry; His ears hear your words of loss; and His heart know the pain you feel; and His arms hold you close.
Surely He took up our infirmitieis and carried our sorrows. Isaiah 53:4

iam so supper sorry for you lost. lots of thoughts and prayers for you ALL. the school days times come back to mine . the neighbor hood times do too. family were like one very large family. we kept in touch most all the time we helped each other too often.
I met Nora when we both worked at Porter Novelli in Atlanta and I'll always remember he with fondness. We "talked" on Facebook just a few days ago. Now, I'll leave one last message for Nora - here.
I wondered how some people could say
"Goodbye" ... "Farewell”...
Knowing they would never see their friends again.
Now I know, not how, but why.
A cord, once severed, is forever cut.
It can never be secured to itself.
It can be re-tied or patched together,
But it is no longer the same as before.
It is not as strong as it once was,
Or, if it is as strong, there is always that uncomfortable knot!
Some cords are unraveled
Strand by strand
Over a period of time,
Slowly ... painfully.
Some are placed in storage
To be used only as needed
No longer truly enjoyed.
Oh, the pain of a severed cord!
Many cords cannot endure the stress
Of being stretched to their limits.
Long distance relationships do that.
Stretch.
Some stretch until the cord is misshapen
No longer what it once was.
Perhaps it is better. Maybe worse.
Some stretch to the point of breaking
Then relax.
Oh, the pain of a stretched cord!
I will never say goodbye to you, Nora.
I could not bear the pain.
Our cord will remain strong,
Unraveled
Useful
Beautiful
Vibrant.
Just like you.
Our hearts and prayers go out to each of you in this very difficult time. May God wrap his arms around y'all and give you his comfort.
Red, Lavina, Janice, and Jennifer, I remember all of you clearly from growing up in the Carlinville United Methodist Church. Of course, I saw James, my high school classmate, in Carlinville this past summer!
My heart goes out to you in this difficult time, and I lift all of you in prayer for strength, courage, and peace!
Nora and I were in journalism school together at SIUC. She was such a good-hearted, sweet girl. I have many memories of our time together in college. My heart goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Bentley, MJ and the rest of her family and friends. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
