Obituary of Everett W. Talley

Everett W. Talley, Jr. 75, of Girard, passed away Friday morning June 5, 2015 at his residence in Girard, IL. Everett was born on December 5, 1939 to Everett and Marcella (Stayton) Talley in Carlinville, IL. He attended Girard schools. On June 20, 2000, he married Jeanette Shaffold in Girard. Everett served with the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, including a tour during the Vietnam War, retiring in 1979 as a Master Sergeant. He later worked at Pleasant Hill Village in Girard and ALCO in Virden. He was a lifetime member of Elmer E. Vance American Legion Post 386 in Virden and a member of the VFW. Everett is survived by his wife, Jeanette; two sons, Mark A. (Mary) Talley of Blue Springs, MO and Scott A. (Amanda) Talley of Virden, IL; two sisters, Marcia (Mike) Rhodes of Palmyra, IL and Mary Lou Underwood of Springfield, IL 2 granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; several step-children and step-grandchildren. Everett was preceded in death by parents and brother, Kenneth Talley. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015, from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Graveside services will take place in the Girard Cemetery immediately following visitation with Rev. Marty Nagel officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 386.
