Condolences
Joyce and family- My mom, Sharon Joiner, took care of Joyce's husband Pete before he passed away. She always had stories to tell me when she came home about Pete and Joyce, she was very fond of them and cared alot about them and the rest of the family. Luckily I got to know Jim Olroyd and his wife. I do know Joyce was very much loved and respected by many. I only got to meet her once, but that one time is something I'll always remember. God Bless to Joyce and her family. My Prayers are with the family and I know she is in Heaven with Pete looking down and smiling over her family and friends.
to all the wonderful family... I was so very sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. She was such an amazingly wonderful woman with a loving heart and soul. Her warm smile will always be a memory of mine. I know how much you will miss her here with you but I know that she is peaceful and happy now. May the legacy she leaves you all give you peace.
with my deepest sympathy....

Family of Joyce - I (Deanna) worked with Joyce at Sunshine Manor and that is where we became acqauainted. We only lived in Carlinville from 1986 to 1990. We have visited there several times since, while living in Phx AZ and Clarksville TN. Joyce and I had corresponded this past year and while working with her we were able to share our faith - she was just the most lovely person. One time David and I had a small reception at the Methodist Church so we could see all our friends and Joyce came and it was so good to see her! We extend to you each our heartfelt sympathy, but isn't it glorious to know your Dad was there to greet your Mom on her arrival at heaven! You were truly blessed with outstanding parents and may all your precious memories bring you comfort and peace now and in the days ahead. We know you will miss Joyce terribly. In His Love, Deanna & David Anderson
We were truly blessed to have known Joyce, as well as Pete. They visited us in our home when Pete held a Revival at our church. We enoyed visiting with them in their home as well. They both were special people and such a great witness of our Lord. We treasured their friendship over many years. May God richly bless your family, you are in our prayers.
Steve, Lois, Jim, Pete and Mark... I can't tell you how much I thought of your mother. As Administrator of Friendship Home, I was in awe of her dedication to our residents as she came week after week to minister to them through her music, even when she wasn't feeling very well. She also took a special interest in several of the residents she knew personally. She was a good friend to many of the people there and would often stay an extra hour or so simply to converse with people she knew. Having known her as a child growing up, it was so nice to reconnect with her as an adult when I started working there. I will always remember her kind heart and warm smile. Please know she will be missed by all of us at Friendship. You have our deepest sympathies.

Hey kids, I'm sorry for your loss. I greatly appreciated the time I got to know and love your parents. They were both an inspiration to me in my ministry in Illinois. God bless all of you and give you peace and rest in knowing where they both are. Bill
Heaven is a richer place as Joyce has joined its angels. Her kind spirit and gentle ways will long be remembered by the hundreds of lives that she, with Pete most often by her side, touched with their genuine loving-kindness.
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Please accempt our deepest sympathy. You will be in our thoughts and rayers
Our deepest love and prayers go to all the Olroyd family. We have lost a kind christan lady who is now united with her heavenly family in eternal life. She will long be remembered for her pleasant, gentle ways.
We'll miss her dearly. Joyce was my mom away from home.
I have lost a wonderful Christian friend, but know she is in a better place & is no longer suffering. I will miss her dearly & will some day be reunited with her. Our prayers are with each family member.
Joyce never had a harsh word to say even if I deserved one. She was such an inspiration. Although Pete was the one that led me to Christ she supported him in his work with the RA boys, and opened her life and home to us. She always made me feel welcome and loved. She also was a great friend to both of our mothers.
I can't begin to say how broken my heart is right now. I have known & loved Joyce all my life. Pete & Joyce were adopted children of my Grandma Opper. I loved them both with all my heart & right now knowing they are together with "Mom Opper" is the one beacon to my broken heart. Thank God I know I too was washed by God's blood and I will one day join the happy reunion. I knew that Joyce prayed for me daily as I care for my own mother. Knowing that always helped me through tough days. She won't be praying for me now, but I will always have her love & presence with me. Pete, Mark, Lois, Stev & Jim...I love you all. How very blessed you were to have such wonderful loving Christian parents. And thank you for sharing them with all of us!
