Richard G. Minster, 80, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Lakeside Health Care in Carlinville, IL. Richard was born May 14, 1944, in Chicago, IL, a son of George Richard and Shirley Mae (Schroeder) Minster. Richard graduated from Fenger High School with the class of 1961. He graduated from Blackburn College with a Bachelor's then got his Master's at Northern Illinois University both in English. He married Judith Heinz on August 13, 1966, at the Carlinville Federated Church. Richard was an English teacher at Bradley University for two years. Then he continued to teach English and English Literature at the University of Dubuque in Iowa for three years. He was also a communications specialist for the life insurance companies, All State and Kemper. Richard liked fishing, reading, and crossword puzzles. Richard loved to travel. He especially loved his family; his kids and grandkids were the light of his life. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Private Graveside Services will be conducted at Carlinville City Cemetery, Carlinville, IL. Richard is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Minster of Carlinville, IL, son, Eric (Teri) Minster of Normal, IL, daughter, Jennifer Ann Minster of Normal, IL, grandsons; MacCallister (Amanda) Byrd of Los Angeles, CA, and Camden George Minster of Normal, IL.
