Paula was born on March 11, 1958, in Carlinville, IL, daughter of V. Dale and Shirley Jo (Dwyer) Tieman. Paula graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1976. After graduation, she worked full-time as an office receptionist for Dr. Villegas and Dr. Villesenor for nearly 40 years. In 2011, Paula went on to work at Carlinville Area Hospital as the receptionist in the Radiology Department. She retired from Carlinville Area Hospital in 2023. Paula was passionate about her role in providing the best care for all the patients and for the doctors she worked for. In 1979, she met the love of her life, Danny Barnett. They wed on April 25, 1980 in Carlinville, IL. Paula dedicated her life to being a loving and devoted wife and mother to their three children, Jason, Danley and Justin and Nana to their seven grandchildren. She was the foundation of our family, through and through. She was an excellent gift giver, always knew the right thing to say, and never missed a special date. Whether supporting her children on their career paths or through parenthood, she was our constant guidance and support. Paula was passionate about gardening and surrounded her house with the most beautiful flower gardens. When she wasn’t gardening, she was spending time traveling with her friends. However, it was spending time with her devoted husband, their grandchildren and their dog, Lilly, that brought her the most joy in life.
