T. Lynn Angelo, 86, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation & Health Care in Hillsboro, IL.
Lynn was born April 29, 1938, in Palmyra, IL, a son of Thomas and Ora Lucille (Pence) Angelo. Lynn graduated from Northwestern with the class of 1956. He married Therese Sanchez Wardle July 2, 2009, in the backyard of Lynn's residence.
Lynn was born with a strong spirit and stubborn determination. He devoted his life to serving his community. After dedicating over 25 years to law enforcement as a City of Carlinville police officer, Chief of Police and then Police Commissioner he retired to enjoy life and his family. Lynn had a deep love for golf, fishing, hosting fish fries, camping and coaching baseball. He enjoyed traveling with his family creating countless memories along the way. Above all, Lynn was a proud husband, father and grandfather, instilling values of hard work and resilience in his loved ones.
He will forever be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering support. Lynn’s legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Lucille Angelo, brothers, Lyle, Frank, and Gary Angelo.
Celebration of Life will be conducted from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, Friday, November 15, 2024 at Vixen Hill Winery, Palmyra IL.
Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Carlinville, IL.
Lynn is survived by his spouse, Therese Angelo of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Patty Jo Carrigan of Auburn, IL, daughter, Marie (Joe) Brashear of Litchfield, IL, son, Randy (Renee) Angelo of Auburn, IL, son, Mario Mock of North Pole, AK, son, Monty (Samantha) Mock of St. Peters, MO, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, brother, Coy (Jane) Angelo of Springfield, IL, brother, Steve Angelo of Woodriver, IL, sister, Nancy Marzak of Mitchell, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.
