Obituary of Lisa Marie Chilton

Lisa Marie Chilton, 70, of Carlinville, IL, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024, at her home in Carlinville, IL. Lisa fought through life. Born 3 months premature, she fought to live. She fought to the end in Hospice 70 years later. Lisa was born and raised in Madison WI, going to public schools, 1 year at Asker Gymnas in Norway, and graduated 1971 from James Madison Memorial High School. She graduated 1975 at Milton College with the B.A. degree in Sociology. She graduated 1989 at the University of Southern Mississippi with the M.L.S. degree in Library Service. She was a librarian at Hattiesburg Public Library, Washington State University, North Central Texas College, and special libraries. She loved music and sang in church choirs in Pullman WA, Sylvania OH, Denton TX, Boone NC, and El Paso TX. She loved God, Jesus Messiah and church. She took the Walk to Emmaus and volunteered with Epiphany in girls and boys state reformatories discipleship walks. She believed God's love so powerful that every knee shall bow, every tongue confess. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Henrik Hartmann. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, 10-11:00 am at Albrecht Funeral Home, 828 S. Janesville St., Milton, WI. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Friday, March 29, 2024 at Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton, WI, with Reverend William Mitchell presiding. Burial will follow in Milton Junction Cemetery, Milton, WI. A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, which would have been Lisa's 71st birthday, at the Federated Church, 122 E. 2nd South St., Carlinville, IL. Reverend William Mitchell will preside. Lisa is survived by her husband Bradley Chilton of Carlinville, IL, mother Anastasia Smith Hartmann of Madison, WI, brother James (Marie) Walsh of Pasadena, CA, brother Tony (Carolyn Haerr) Hartmann of Fitchberg, WI, sister Jeni (Shawn Grimes) Hartmann of Durango, CO, brother Arne (Paul Floding) Hartmann of Portland, OR, sister Signe (Art Gluck ) Hartmann of Denver, CO, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to The Federated Church, Carlinville, IL. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville, is in charge of arrangements.
