Obituary of Zeke Joshua Mahkovtz

Zeke Joshua Mahkovtz passed peacefully in the arms of his parents on December 18, 2023. He was born at 1:12 am and met the eyes of Jesus at 1:30 am the same day. During his short time here on Earth, he touched many lives and was loved deeply by family and friends. Zeke experienced holding hands with his mommy and daddy, hugs and kisses from his family, and being told “I love you” an uncountable number of times. Zeke was the son of Joshua and Brittany Mahkovtz of Carlinville, Illinois. He is survived by three siblings, Graeme, Violet, and Bryan all at home. His paternal grandparents are Tom and Beth Mahkovtz of Carlinville, IL.; his maternal grandparents are Ron and Jae Bryan of Carlinville, IL; and his great-grandmother is Lucille Mahkovtz Ramsey of Carlinville, IL. Zeke is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy, big brothers Graeme and Bryan, big sister Violet, his grandparents, his great-grandmother, his aunts and uncles, his cousins, and many others. Zeke will always remain his parents’ precious baby, Graeme, Violet, and Bryan’s little brother, and they will hold him again in heaven one day. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, at 10:00 am at First Church, Carlinville, IL, with Reverend Steve Schmidt officiating. There will be no visitation. There will be a PRIVATE FAMILY BURIAL at Moore Cemetery immediately following the service. You will be able to offer condolences and visit with the family at a meal that will be served at First Church, Carlinville, after the family returns from the Private Burial at 12:00 pm. Memorial donations can be made to support Royal Rangers boy’s ministry at Carlinville First Church of Carlinville. Zeke would have been involved in this organization, which provides Christlike character formation and servant leadership for boys. His uncles and brother have both been and continue to be impacted by this program. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
