Obituary of Ronald F. Zeitler

Ronald F. Zeitler, 86, of Girard, passed away Sunday evening, July 3, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Ronald was born on July 23, 1935 to John and Violet (Kramer) Zeitler in Chicago, IL. Ron graduated from Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois in 1953, then received his bachelors degree in business from Illinois Benedictine University. He was a contract officer for the U.S. Department of Energy, retiring in 1991 from Fermi Lab in Batavia, Illinois. Ronald was very active in the Girard United Methodist Church and the Girard Food Pantry. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and woodworking. Ronald is survived by his wife, Catherine; son, James K. Zeitler of Girard, IL; daughter, Lori L. (Ray) Reardon of Girard, IL; two grandsons, Andrew (Leean) Reardon of Girard, IL and Kenneth Reardon of Farmersville, IL; great-grandchildren, Lee and Rae Lynn Reardon; brother, John Zeitler of Aurora, IL; sister, Judith Haas of Oswego, IL; many nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL, with Rev. Mark Doane, officiating. Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to either the Girard United Methodist Church or the Girard Rescue Squad. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard is in charge of arrangements.
