Obituary of Lois Loraine Black

Lois L. Black, 97 of Carlinville, Illinois, passed away Friday evening, December 28, 2018, at Cedar Hurst Care in Edwardsville, IL.

Lois was born November 15, 1921, in Carlinville, IL, a daughter of Walter and Clara (Oller) Bevers.

Lois graduated from Carlinville High School and later married William "Bill" Black on April 12, 1947 in Carlinville, IL.

Lois retired from Prairie Farms Dairy in Carlinville as Mr. Gourley's secretary. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church in rural Carlinville, American Legion Aux. and the Carlinville Area Hospital Aux. Lois enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband William "Bill" Black, November 24, 2005, sisters; Muriel Peterson, Ada Daugherty and nephews; Don and Alan Bevers.

Funeral Services will be conducted, 2:00pm, Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Visitation will be held one hour before service.

Burial will follow in Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery, Carlinville.

Lois is survived brothers, Paul Bevers of Carlinville, IL, and Walter (Collette) Bevers of Bradenton, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church.

Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
