I just found out the sad news of Mrs Wilson's passing. Mrs Wilson was my teacher supervisor when I was a student teacher from Blackburn College at CJHS in late 1974. With the help of her guidance I was able to secure a position teaching in Australia after graduation in 1975. I remained teaching in Australia for 25 years until returning to Illinois in 2000, moving back to Australia in May 2017.
I had the pleasure of visiting Mr and Mrs Wilson in Carlinville accompanied by my parents during a visit to the US in 1977. We also visited Mary and Randy in Springfield where Randy gave us a tour of the State Capitol, including Governor Thompson's office. I often spoke of Mrs Wilson in my classes and in 1996 I had the great pleasure of writing two American history courses for the Year 10(Sophomore) classes at my school. One course is still being taught to this day. I know that Mrs Wilson would have been pleased.
May she rest peacefully after a life well lived. Memory eternal.
Mrs. Wilson was my 6th grade teacher at North School. What a wonderful teacher she was. So kind, always fair and you could tell she loved all of her students and teaching. My sympathy to her family.
So very sorry for your loss, Mary Lou. Your mom was my 5th & 6th grade teacher in Standard City. I remember her wonderful smile, her laugh, her lipstick and she always wore pretty dresses. She was a beautiful person and a wonderful teacher. She will be missed. I pray for comfort and peace for you and your family!
