Obituary of Oella May Fullington

Oella M. Fullington, 98, from Heritage Health Care in Carlinville, went to her eternal resting place in Heaven on Monday evening, January 30, 2017. Oella was born on March 24, 1918 in Carlinville to Kenneth and Pearl (Angelo) Stayton. She married Perry Fullington on November 9, 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Oella retired from Dr. Rathke Dental Office located in Carlinville in August 1993. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Home Extension and Friendly Neighbors Club. She took great pride in her garden and flowers and loved sewing, quilting, crocheting and counter cross-stitch. Oella enjoyed playing board games and card games with her grandchildren and was the "Queen of Scrabble." Oella is survived by two daughters, Janet Martin (Billy) of Ozark, IL and Jonell Schwab (Bob) of Carlinville; two step-sons, David Fullington (Jamie) and Bill Fullington (Judy) both of Carlinville; 5 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; sister, Jean Klaus of Carlinville; brother, Dean Stayton (Helen) of Carlinville, as well as many nieces and nephews. Oella is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Kay and Jack Stayton; sisters, Marcella Talley and Betty Leroy and an infant grandson, Roman Gabriel. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Carlinville with Rev. James Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery, rural Carlinville. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
