Obituary of Carol Wright

Carol A. Wright, 66, of Girard, passed away Wednesday afternoon July 6, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Carol was born on August 3, 1949 to Willard and Ruth (Gass) Wilson at. She was a 1967 graduate of Girard High School. On December 1, 1984 she married Lyndell G. Wright in Girard. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1995. Carol retired from Boente Shell in Girard as a clerk. Previously she had worked as a dispatcher for IGOR. Carol loved reading, crossword puzzles, and cooking for guests. She was a caregiver for her sister, Delores. Unknown to most, she became a certified flight attendant after high school. Carol is survived by her two daughters, Tammie C. (Kellie) Butler of Girard, IL, Tara C. (Travis) Grady-Taylor of N. Waterboro, ME; six grandchildren, Gregory "Dillon", Lindsey, Dustin, and Lacey Butler, Lilah and Boden Taylor; 5 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Leonard (Bonnie) Wilson of New City, IL, Willard Wayne (Sharon) Wilson of Virden, IL, David Wilson of Virden, IL, Michael (Cindy) Wilson of Virden, IL, Donald Wilson of Nilwood, IL, and James (Tammy) Wilson of Nilwood, IL; sister, Delores Wilson of Girard, IL; several nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Willard Wilson, Sr. and Ruth Ann Wilson; husband, Lyndell G. Wright; brother, Paul Wilson. Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard, IL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Mary Alice Cunningham officiating. Burial will take place in the Girard Cemetery, next to her husband, Lyndell. Memorials are suggested to the Girard Fire & Rescue Squad.
