Obituary of Helen VanHuss

Helen Rose VanHuss, 80, of Palmyra, passed away Saturday morning, April 30, 2016 at her residence in Palmyra, IL. Helen was born on October 27, 1935 to William and Novella (Garbett) Katzenmair in Springfield, IL. She was a graduate of Girard High School and married Jesse David VanHuss on September 7, 1957 in Virden, IL. Helen worked for Dickie John for several years, as well as serving as a cook for local nursing homes. She spent much of her life as a homemaker and enjoyed collecting bells, trinkets and researching her families genealogy. Helen is survived by two sons, Jesse David VanHuss, Jr. of Divernon, IL and Danny (Stacy) VanHuss of Woodson, IL; two daughters, Loretta Dawson of Ft. Meyer, FL and Novella VanHuss of Girard, IL; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and a brother, Robert (Helen) Katzenmair of Virden, IL. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse David VanHuss, Sr. on April 1, 2003; brother, Alan Katzenmair and a sister, Delores Huff.
