Obituary of Marian Nutter

Marian D. Nutter, 71, of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday evening, March 16, 2016 at her residence in Carlinville, IL. Marian was born on August 26, 1944 to Thomas and Ora (St. Clair) Coleman in Barrett, WV. She graduated from Van High School in Van, WV with the class of 1962 and from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 1966 with a degree in psychology. She married Thomas B. Nutter at the Barrett United Methodist Church in Barrett, WV July 15, 1967. Tom and Marian lived in Carlinville since 1974. Marian was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She was an amazing wife and mother whose unwavering faith and compassion for others marked all that she did. Marian is survived by her husband, Tom; son, Tom (Sharon) Nutter of Elmhurst, IL; two daughters, Suzanne (JD) Guckenberger of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary (Tod) Dowdy of Carlinville, IL; 6 granddaughters; 1 grandson; 1 great granddaughter; brother-in-law, Rodney Goble of Pensacola, FL; several nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ora Coleman, and sister, Esther (Coleman) Goble. Visitation will be held Monday, March 21, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Carlinville United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at 10:00 am at the Carlinville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rex Hendrix, officiating. Burial will take place in the New Calvary Cemetery in Carlinville, IL. Memorials are suggested to the Carlinville United Methodist Church Youth Programs.
