Obituary of Geraldine L. Bremer

Geraldine L. Bremer age 85, of Carlinville, IL passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at the Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born November 4, 1922 in DuQuoin, IL daughter of the late George and Gladys (Wilkerson) Baughman. Geraldine married Robert O. Bremer, May 21, 1943 in DuQuoin. They owned and operated Bremer's 5 & 10 Store in Carlinville until the late 1980's. They later owned and operated Bremer's Office Supply out of their home. Geraldine was a member of the Carlinville United Methodist Church, member of the choir, Eastern Star and United Methodist Women. The Bremers served as the treasurer of the church for over 25 years. From 1993-2000 Geraldine was a volunteer for the Ombudsman Long Term Volunteer Program. She enjoyed flying with Bob in their private airplane. Surviving: Husband Robert O. Funeral Services will be held Friday, 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Sabo officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
