Shirley Weatherford
80, of Carlinville, died Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at her residence.
She was born Tuesday, February 5, 1929 in Hillsboro, IL, the Daughter of Everett H. and Floy Elizabeth( East) Williams.
She married J.T. Weatherford in Carlinville on April 24, 1949 and he died April 6, 2003.
She was Co-Administrator for Weatherford Nursing Home with her husband J.T.. In 1975 they built Sunshine Manor Nursing Home in Carlinville and operated it until they retired in 1985.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Carlinville.
Shirley loved her morning coffee with the ladies at McDonalds. Her positive attitude was one of her strongest attributes in life. You could always find her dog Precious at her side.
Survivors: Daughter, Kathy Dugger (Tom) of Hannibal, MO, Daughter, Janie Ashworth (Jim) of Carlinville, IL, Daughter, Jeri Lynn Murphy of Carlinville, IL, Son, Ennio Weatherford (Paola) of Livorno, Italy, Grandchildren, Justin Dugger, Alicia Stewart (Jeff),, Katie Ashworth, Gregory Landon Ashworth (Nicole), Heidi Abbott (Scott),, Sara Lucherini (Nicola) and Maura Boschis (Corrado), 7 Great Grandchildren,Sister Helen Shockley of Florissant, MO, Sister, Alvera Dawson of Providence, RI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson; Jason Dugger, granddaughter; Kendra Higgins, four sisters and two brothers. Funeral Information
Friends may call from 2:00-5:00 P.M., Sunday, October 18 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL.
Funeral service will be held, 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 19, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church with visitation one hour before service.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Carlinville City Cemetery. Donations Information
The family asks that memorials be made to the Carlinville Area Hospital Building Fund, Carlinville Food Pantry or Carlinville School Milk Fund instead of flowers.
