Dorothy M. Tetzlaff 81, of Carlinville passed away, Monday evening, October 10, 2011 at Carlinville Area Hospital. Dorothy was born August 14, 1930 in Carlinville, IL, the daughter of George and Francis (Spencer) Hertzberger. She married Gerald Tetzlaff May 5, 1951 in Austin, Texas while Gerald was in the service. Dorothy graduated from Carlinville High School with the class of 1949. After marriage she became a farm wife and homemaker who bred pure bred Collies. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing and had a talent for painting. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for many years. Survivors: husband, Gerald Tetzlaff, son, Ronald Tetzlaff, wife Judy,of Carlinville daughter, Connie Steele, husband Bill, of Castville, TN, grandson, Joe Tetzlaff, granddaughter, Jennifer Marsh, grandson, Mark Frizzo, grandson, Mike Frizzo, 4 great grandchildren, brother, Spencer Hertzberger wife Fran of Carlinville and two nephews. Funeral Information Visitation will be Thursday, October 13, 2011 9:00-11:00 am at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Carlinville with funeral services to follow at 11:00am with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating. Elner Ivers will preside over the organ while Wendell Armour will be singing The Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Pallbearers serving the family will be Joe Tetzlaff, Mark and Mike Frizzo, Jay Greenwalt, Todd Armour and Kenny Meece. Donations Information Memorials may be made in Dorothy's name to Carlinville Area Hospital Building Fund or St. Paul's United Church Building Fund.
