Darby- Sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Know you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!!! Kris (Schroeder) Adams
Dixie, Eddie and Family, I'm so glad I moved to Girard and met your family. I always enjoyed keeping Thelma Dean company at the church dinners and activities. She made me remember my own "little, but mighty" Mom. I will be holding you in prayer for comfort and healing as the days, weeks and months pass. Allow yourself the time to take care of yourselves now. Barb
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. I always enjoyed visiting with Thelma Dean in Decks or at her home. She loved gardening and we spent time talking about her flowers and mine. She was very active and involved in many organizations that benefitted from her time and commitment. I do not think Thelma Dean ever knew a stranger as she was a friend to all.
For a few years she was instrumental in getting a group of us together for Zelmer family reunions -- I so enjoyed & appreciated all she did to keep them going. She was a good leader and a great worker for our family. God bless you & her.
My sympathies to all of you on Thelma Dean's passing. I have fond memories way back to my days as a pre-schooler when I first met her. My family lived next to her uncle Harry Zelmer, and my sisters and I would play with Thelma Dean's daughters when they came to visit their great uncle.
Dixie & Family, All our prayers are with you. She was a great 4-H leader and friend. Sharon & Luke
My condolences to the family. I was finally able to meet Thelma Dean last summer. She was the first person in Macoupin County who helped me with my Macoupin families in the late 1970s. She truly was a remarkable and wonderful lady. I am truly honored to have met her.
Eddie, Debbie and Dixie, My sympathies to you and your families. Thelma Dean was a GREAT LADY. I always enjoyed visiting with her. I don't know what the last couple of years brought her, but I know that she was a fighter all those days in the Hospital when I was at Girard. She is one that I would think of regularly the years after I left Girard. I would usually check up on her from other friends that I contacted. Again, my sympathy, and prayers. I'm not sure if I can make it down for the visitation or funeral, but know that I am here for you any time.
My condolences to Thelma's Family. I met her on a visit to Carlinville, in 2004 when searching for my Hodges and Ross families.
Her work preserving cemetery records for the county helped me find information I needed.
I am so grateful that she had the concern and willingness to preserv county history for those of us with link. Her work is so appreciated.
