Donna and Becky, So sorry to hear of your father's death. I can still remember going to your house and your Dad was so sweet. I know you will miss him. May God comfort you at this difficult time. We're thinking of you.
Smitty was a great mentor and a true friend. As a Carlinville native, Smitty was a family friend, and a great role model for my brother and I. After graduating and moving on, Smitty was a good friend to our mother Doris. She always spoke highly of Pauline and Smitty, and spent many a morning with them at Jubelt's Bakery. Whenever we visited Carlinville, we would always go out and have coffee with them on Saturday morning and they were always a pleasure to re hash old times with. Smitty was a great guy, and will be missed dearly. Our thought and prayers go out to the family, we feel for you in your loss.
You always remember those in your life who gave you an early start with work habits. I'll always hold a dear memory of "Smitty". He hired me to work at the TV shop on the North side of the square in Carrollton. Of course most of my time was spent with Joe Enoch. Don't know if I learned much cause I was scared of electricity. Took the opportunity to visit with your mom and dad in their home in Carlinville when I was working that area. Enjoyed the visit very much. He was a special guy. Take care.
Always enjoyed having coffee with Smitty at the bakery, Deepest sympathy to the family.
We attended church with Clarence at The Federated Church and he was such a sweetheart. Our thoughts and prayers to you all.
