Obituary of LeRoy Perkinton

LeRoy Perkinton 93, of Carlinville formerly of Nilwood passed away Monday morning, December 5, 2011, at Taylorville Memorial Hospital in Taylorville,IL . LeRoy was born May 24, 1918, in Havelock, NE, son of Joseph and Florence (Belair) Perkinton. He married Anne (Martin) May 9, 1940, in Bowling Green, MO. LeRoy graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1937. He worked at Flynn-Hippard Pharmacy in Springfield for 15 years before starting a career with St. John's Hospital in Springfield as an Equipment Coordinator and Supervisor. LeRoy retired in 1985. LeRoy was a member of the Nilwood Baptist Church in Nilwood, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clifford Perkinton and sister, Doris Belair. He is survived by his wife, Anne B. Perkinton, son, Richard (Jeannie) Perkinton of Springfield, daughter, Diana Collins of Taylorville, daughter, Paula Warnke of Carlinville, daughter, Donna K. Perkinton of Springfield, daughter, Leanne (Tony) Newsome of Christiansburg, VA., 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, great great grandson, brother, Robert J. Perkinton of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Friends may call from 10:00am-Noon on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard. Where funeral services will be held at Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery, rural Girard. Donations Information Memorials are suggested to the SPARK in Springfield.
