Obituary of Marilyn M. Neff

Marilyn M. Neff 80, of Girard passed away Tuesday evening, September 18, 2012, at her residence. Marilyn was born August 14, 1932, in Thayer, IL, the daughter of Cleo "Dutch" and Annie (Rees) Nichols. Marilyn married Orval Neff on March 19, 1955 at the Girard United Methodist Church and he passed away April 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Billy Dale, Biscuit and Jerry Nichols. Marilyn graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1950. Marilyn was a member of the Girard United Methodist Church, Oak Leaf Country Club and enjoyed bird watching, television, and her grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Debbie VanHuss of Girard; son, Doug (Mary) Neff of Decatur; grandchildren, Jamie VanHuss, Brett VanHuss (Bobbijo), Mindy McGuire (Doug), Allison Neff, & Alex Neff; great grandchildren, Cayden VanHuss, Kellen McGuire & Carter VanHuss, brother, Bobbie Nichols of Paw Paw, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Girard. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Rich McElfresh officiating. Burial will be next to her husband in the Girard Cemetery.
