Genevieve H. Lyerla
94, of Carlinville, died Wednesday morning, January 27, 2010 at Carlinville Area Hospital.
She was born Sunday, January 16, 1916 in Scottville, IL, the Daughter of Forest and Maude (Reed) Mansfield. She married the late Kenneth Lyerla on October 31, 1961 and he passed away in 1981 after 20 years of marriage.
Genevieve was a homemaker, and cooked at the Heritage House in Springfield for over 15 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and loved to crochet, embroidery and play bingo. Her passion was polka music and polka dancing.
Survivors: Son, Lendell Turner of Hettick, IL, Daughter, Wilma Clevenger (Vincent) of Carlinville, IL, 5 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 2 Step Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Brother, Delbert Mansfield (Ilene) of Pekin, IL, Brother, Noel Mansfield (Mary) of Carlinville, IL.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, three sisters, and two brothers. Funeral Information
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 29 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Sabo.
Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery in rural Modesto.
