Mary Ann Lowrance
86, of Carlinville passed away Sunday evening, August 4, 2013, at Carlinville Area Hospital.
Mary Ann was born October 31, 1926, in Mt. Carmel, IL, a daughter of Cy and Bonnie (Hudson) Whitten.
She graduated from Robinson High School and the Beloit College in Wisconsin in 1948 with a degree in Petroleum Geology.
Mary Ann was united in marriage to Max Lowrance in Robinson, IL on September 3, 1950 for 62 years.
Mary Ann started her career with Pure Oil Company in Olney, IL. Mary Ann had also worked for the Indiana Geological Survey in Bloomington, IN. She co-authored two books for the Annual Indiana State Survey and later became the Telecommunications Specialist for the Department of Children and Family Services. Mary Ann enjoyed cross stitching, spending time with her grand and great grandchildren and was an avid bridge player. Surviving are her husband, Max M. Lowrance of Carlinville; son, Steve Lowrance of Springfield; 2 granddaughters, Meghan (Adam Hubrich) Lowrance and Milena (Lucas) Crum; great grandchildren, Garrison Crum and Olivia Hubrich and sister, Joan Whitten of West Port, IN. Friends may call at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville from 5:00 to 7:00 on Wednesday, August 7, 2013.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, 10:30 AM, August 8, 2013 at the Carlinville United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Taylor officiating.
Entombment will be at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in the Mausoleum of Valor. Donations Information
