Donald E. Leach
76, of Carlinville, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Carlinville Area Hospital.
He was born Sunday, February 4, 1934 in Carlinville, IL, the Son of Earl T. and Leta( Clark) Leach.
Don was a graduate of Carlinville High School, class of 1952.
He married Ida Mae (Quarton)in South Otter Twsp. on November 14, 1954.
Don farmed in Bird Township and worked at the Carlinville Post Office as a clerk for more than 30 years. After retirement he worked as a subsitute bus driver for Carlinville School Distrist for 5 years. Don also was a trustee for Bird Township.
Don served as a deacon at Charity Baptist Church for over 40 years in addition to teaching Sunday School and helping with many carpentry jobs. He was a Senior Adult Leader for the Macoupin Baptist Association. Don loved to work in his woodshop, building keepsakes for his grandchildren and family.
Survivors: Sons, David E. Leach of Clayton, MO, Darrell E. Leach (Sandi) of Live Oak, FL,Daughters, Deann M. LaTerre (Glenn) of Smyrna, TN, and Leann M. Barr (Dave) of Carlinville, IL, Grandchildren, Andrew Leach, Michelle Mattingly, Amanda Welte, Adriann Welte, Sophie LaTerre, Step-Grandchildren, Aleah Owens and Emily Barr, Great Grandchildren, Griffin Leach and Julia Leach, Sisters, Dolores Frankford (Alvis) of Carlinville, IL and Marilyn Mieher of Carlinville, IL. Sister-In Law, Bev Leach of Carlinville and Several Nieces and Nephews.
He was preceded in death by Parents and Brother, Dale Leach. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M., Sunday, July 18 at Charity Church 21964 Charity Church Road in rural Carlinville, IL.
Funeral Service 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 19, 2010 at Charity Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery. Donations Information
