Bill G. Holloway
Bill G. Holloway, age 79, of Palmyra, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 6, 2008 at 10:20 A.M. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. Bill was born December 2, 1928 in Palmyra, the son of the late Leo John and Iva Pearl (Walk) Holloway. Two years after graduating from Palmyra High School in 1945, he entered the Air Force, and before he was discharged in 1951, he had obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant and was involved in the Berlin Air Lift and received several decorations and medals. On July 14, 1972, Bill married Marlene D. Fountain in Peoria, Illinois. He was the owner of Bush-Holloway Ford in Peoria from 1970 until 1994.
Bill was a strong family man, and was a great husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Palmyra First Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Trustee. Bill belonged to the Palmyra Lions Club, Palmyra American Legion Post 1034, a board member for the Oak Hill Cemetery, and was a past president of the Palmyra High School Alumni Association. He loved playing golf and cards.
Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Wandell Leo "Pete" Holloway, and a brother at birth.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Palmyra First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. at the church.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra, where American Legion Post 1034 will conduct military rites. Donations Information
