Charlotte Harms 77 of Carlinville passed away Tuesday morning, February 7, 2012 at Carlinville Area Hospital. Charlotte was born on July 1, 1934 in Gillespie, IL to Charles and Virgie (Hall) Stinnett. She married Phillip Gerald Harms on November 25, 1952 and he passed away November 24, 2006. Charlotte worked for Dr. Bill Stinnett, was custodian with her husband at Carlinville National Bank from 1989 to 2001 and enjoyed being a homemaker. Charlotte was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Carlinville since her youth. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ, her husband of 53 years, and her children. She took pride in their choice of mates, as well as her grandchildren and their mates. While raising her children, Charlotte was very active in her church and training her children to love the Lord. She taught Sunday School and a mission class called Sunbeams. Charlotte was also a member of the W.M.U. and loved working in the church nursery. Charlotte and Gerald worked with Joyce and Pete Olroyd in training union. She was also a member of the Macoupin County Home Extension. Charlotte enjoyed crocheting, knitting, painting and her home, as well as making pies and baking cookies for friends and family get together's. Charlotte is survived by her three children; daughter, Debbie McDow (Butch) of Carlinville, son, Larry Harms (Alice) of Carmi, IL and daughter, Joyce Wagoner (Bryan) of Gillespie; 8 grandchildren, David McDow, Kelly Knight (Clint), Josh Harms (Megan), Crystal Lewis (Patrick), Jennifer Wright (Jamie), Brad Wagoner (Brandie), Beth Sies (Dan) and Joy Hart (Jason); 13 great grandchildren and her brother, Jim Stinnett (Kay) of Carlinville and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband , sister Thelma Schmidt and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Information Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2012 from 4-7 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinvlle. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday February 11, 2012 at the funeral home with Rev. Vic Peetom officiating. Burial will take place in Bethel Ridge Cemetery, rural Atwater, IL.
