Obituary of Robert E. Greaves

Robert E. Greaves 71, of Carlinville, passed away Thursday evening, September 19, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Robert was born on April 25, 1942 to Russell and Evelyn (Coffey) Greaves in Carlinville. On June 8, 1963 Robert married Barbara Billbruck at Charity Baptist Church in rural Carlinville and she survives. Robert worked at Prairie Farms as a route salesman for 40 years, retiring in 2004. He was also a farmer in South Otter township with his father for many years. He was a member of Charity Baptist Church in rural Carlinville, serving as a Decon and Sunday school teacher for many years, as well as being involved in the Illinois Baptist Campers on Mission as a project coordinator. Robert enjoyed gardening, camping, spending time with his family and was also a stained glass crafter. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara of Carlinville; 2 daughters, Beth (Steve) Harding of Carlinville and Robin (Steven) Martin of Jonesboro, AR; his father, Russell A. Greaves of Carlinville and 4 grandchildren, Blake and Collin Harding and Alyssa and Luke Martin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn M. Greaves. Funeral Information Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, September 22, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Charity Baptist Church, rural Carlinville. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning, September 23, 2013 at 10:00 am at the church with Rev. Curt Ebert, officiating. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery.
