Jacob Douglas Glenn
22, of Carlinville, passed away Thursday morning on October 10, 2013 at his residence in Carlinville, IL.
Jacob was born on August 19, 1991 to Douglas Glenn and Rebecca (Miller) Root in Knightstown, IN.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, C. Robert Miller and Claribelle Miller, and grandfather, Gordon Glenn.
Jacob lived the first half of his life in Knightstown, Indiana and attended Knightstown Elementary school. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, soccer as a young boy. He was also a member of boy scouts and enjoyed building the Pinewood Derby cars every year. He moved to Illinois in 2001 where he attended West Elementary School, and Carlinville Middle School.
During high school, some of his hobbies included deer and turkey hunting and target shooting. He was a part of the air rifle team. Jacob was also a member of the Scholar Bowl team because he always loved trivia. He played football and he was an active 4-H member for 7 years. He graduated from Carlinville High School in 2009. Jacob attended SIU -Edwardsville for 2 years and was currently enrolled in Blackburn college majoring in Chemistry. He enjoyed attending concerts, fishing, and spending time with friends. He was intelligent, friendly, and could make anyone laugh.
Jacob is survived by his mother- Rebecca (Miller) Root and husband Michael of Carlinville, IL, father -Douglas Glenn and wife Tammy of Litchfield, IL grandmother - Flora Glenn of Chesterfield, IL; 2 sisters - Emily (Alex) Wilson of Minneapolis, MN, Audra (Joseph) Essig of Carbondale, IL; 3 step-sisters - Biljana Stephens of Litchfield, IL, Hannah (Alex) Linder of Fairview Heights, IL, Rachel Root of Collinsville, IL; special friend - Brittany A. Chance of Carlinville, IL and several aunts,uncles, and cousins. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at Cross Church in Carlinville,IL
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2013, 3:00 pm at the Cross Church in Carlinville following the visitation, with Reverend Tim Rhodus officiating.
Burial will take place at Mayfield Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Carlinville. Donations Information
