Norman L. Emmons
84, of Carlinville, passed away Monday morning, March 25, 2013 at his residence.
He was born on February 7, 1929 to LeRoy and Lenora (Eichen) Emmons in Carlinville. He attended Carlinville schools. Norman served his country as a PFC in the U.S. Army. On May 21, 1948, he married Wilma E. Stevens at her parents home in Chesterfield, Illinois.
Norman worked as an electrician for Laclede Steel in Alton for 35 years, retiring in January of 1988. He loved to go fishing and traveling with his wife Wilma.
Norman is survived by 2 sons - Roy Emmons (wife Joyce) of Carlinville, Steven Emmons of Springfield, Illinois; daughter - JoAnn Cole (husband Kenneth) of Galena, Missouri ;5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma, parents, LeRoy and Lenora Emmons, and brother, George William Emmons. Funeral Information
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Carlinville, with Rev. Kevin Strope officiating. There will be no visitation. Donations Information
