Gene F. Allen
85, of Girard passed away Friday afternoon, August 8, 2014 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Gene was born August 10, 1928 in Waggoner, IL, a son of James D. and Viola M. Perotte Allen.
Gene graduated from Girard High School in 1946 and soon enlisted in the service during the Korean Conflict. He married Sandy Shearburn, December 19, 1951 in Girard, IL. Gene was a life long farmer in the Girard and Auburn areas. He enjoyed golf, tractor pulling, playing cards and shuffle board.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandy in 1995 and son Richard Allen in 2009.
Surviving are his daughter, Jeanne (David) Miller of Jacksonville, IL; grandchildren, Tara L. Miller, Dustin (Lori) Miller, Eric L. (Lindsey) Allen, and Andrew M. Allen; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
Family and friends may call Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Girard.
Funeral services will take place at 1:30 pm, Friday, August 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
Gene will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Girard Cemetery. Donations Information
