Floyd Dever Drew
91, of Carlinville, passed away Monday, April 24, 2012 at the Carlinville Area Hospital.
He was born on August 2, 1920 to James and Ethel ( Rigsby) Drew in Shipman, Illinois. Floyd served his country in the Army during WWll in central Europe. Floyd worked as a mechanic for Smith Equipment Company in Carlinville, retiring in December of 1982. He married Virginia Harvel on July 29, 1971 in Carlinville. She preceded him in death on April 29, 1996. On July 8, 1998 he married Helen Schmitt in Carrollton, Illinois.
Floyd was a member of John L. Meyers VFW Post 1104 in Carlinville.
Floyd is survived by his loving spouse Helen, son - Alan Drew of Carlinville; daughter - Melissa Isringhausen (husband, Jeff) of Virden; 4 grandchildren - Christopher and Amanda Drew and Scott and Breana Isringhausen; 2 sisters - Mae Brannon of Cottage Hills, Illinois and Grace Gibson of Carlinville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Funeral Information
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26th, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 27th, at 1:00 pm at the Davis-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Angel Sierra officiating.
Burial will take place in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Donations Information
