Obituary of Lenord E Coonrod

Lenord E. "Slim" Coonrod 88, of Carlinville, passed away Tuesday morning, August 13, 2013 at Carlinville Area Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1924 to Porter and Cora (Baker) Coonrod in Carlinville, IL. Lenord attended Carlinville High Schools and later married Lois Jean Strunk on June 3, 1950 in Medora, IL. Lenord owned and operated the Carlinville Feed Store for 11 years, and then went to work for Prairie Farms Dairy for 20 years before retiring in 1986. He also farmed and was a member of Carlinville United Methodist Church. Lenord is survived by his loving spouse Lois along with their two sons; David (Cathy) Coonrod and Tim Coonrod both of Carlinville. He is also survived by two grandchildren; Laura Yowell and Brett Coonrod, and a sister Helen Hacke of Carlinville. He was preceded in death by his parents; Porter and Cora, a daughter Diann Coonrod and a son Lenord Coonrod; two brothers, Harold and Ebert Coonrod; two sisters, Jesse Caudle and Thelma Goode and a grandson Brian Coonrod. . Funeral Information Visitation will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2013, at 10:00 am at the Carlinville United Methodist Church, with Revered Robert Taylor, officiating. Burial will take place in the Medora Cemetery.
