Beulah Young 95 of Athens, formerly of Carlinville, passed away Wednesday morning, January 28, 2015 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Beulah was born on January 1, 1920 in Shipman, IL, a daughter of John and Phoebe (Rhoads) Bounds. Beulah married Kenneth E. Young Sr. on September 12, 1942, in Piasa, IL and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2005. Beulah worked for the Western Ammunition Plant before starting her family. Soon after her children were raised Beulah worked for several years at the Alton Cafe, working in the kitchen. She was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Athens and Carlinville-Plainview Eastern Star for over 50 years. Funeral Information Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 10:00 to Noon at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville. Funeral Services will follow at Noon on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the funeral home with Eastern Star Rites being conducted prior to the service at 11:45 am. Burial will follow in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
