Obituary of Larry Eugene Talbert

Larry Eugene Talbert, 78, of Carlinville, Il passed away on Thursday morning, June 11, 2026 at Carlinville Rehab & Health Care. Larry was born April 29, 1948 in Carlinville, Il a son of John William Talbert Sr. and Fern Teresa (Hacke) Talbert. He graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1966. He married Beverly Sutton in 1966. They had 2 sons & later divorced. Larry entered the Army after High School serving a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He became an expert marksman and earned the Bronze Star award for heroism & later the Purple Heart. Upon his return home he became a farmer & then started LTD Recycling business that he thought would help save the environment. He married Vyolet "Vy" Thompson in Carlinville, IL on October 1, 2005. He enjoyed his recycling, his friends at the coffee shop with his best friend Dave McKee & his beloved cold Dr Pepper & his bird Tweet. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Donald E. Talbert & sister, Norma Wolfe. Larry is survived by his son William (Bill) Talbert of Waverly, step son Cody Lavenduskey of Gillespie, four grandchildren, one step grandchild, brother John Talbert of Girard and sister, Judy Behme of Nilwood. Memorials may be made to American Legion or VFW. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
