Obituary of Karen Lee Fetter

Karen Lee Fetter, 74, of Girard, IL, passed away on Thursday evening, June 11, 2026, at Pleasant Dale Place in Girard, IL. Karen was born October 13, 1951, in Springfield, IL, a daughter of Clarence "Smokey" Stoll and Elsie (Cornille) Stoll. She graduated from Girard High School with the class of 1969. She married Randall "Howdy" Fetter, on June 27, 1970, at First Baptist Church Girard. Karen was a hard working woman who retired after spending over 30 years working at Gold Nugget Publications in Virden. Her main focus was on the graphic design and advertising portion of the newspaper. Outside of work she had many hobbies that she enjoyed including fishing, mushroom hunting, and camping with her husband, as well as reading and sewing. More than anything Karen loved her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant grandson, Christian Fetter. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard. Burial will follow in Girard Cemetery, Girard. Karen is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Brandon) Kimbro of Spaulding, IL, son Clint Fetter (Fiancé Holly) of Girard, IL, step son, Dustin Fetter of Rochester, IL, seven grandchildren; Hailey (Tanner) Yancik, Megan Wildman, Camaryn Fetter, Presley Fetter, Harper Fetter, Cora Kimbro, and Bodie Kimbro, great grandson, Kristian Fetter, sister, Kathy (Steve) Miller of Mulberry, FL, sister, Kristy Furlow of Springfield, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Girard Township Library. Davis-Anderson Funeral Homes, Girard is in charge of arrangements.
