Obituary of Robin Ranae Hudson

Please share a memory of Robin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robin Ranae Hudson As requested by the family, Robin’s obituary was written by her granddaughter, Madalynn Bloome. After a hard-fought stint in the hospital, Robin Ranae Hudson, age 65, of Carlinville, IL, passed comfortably surrounded by her family at 05:33 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Springfield Memorial Hospital. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Robin lived her life caring for everyone and anything around her. Robin was born to Peter Greenan and Isla Faye Bridges on July 8th , 1960, in Jacksonville, IL. She was the second of four daughters. She attended Northwestern high school, where, during her senior year, she married her lifelong love, James David “J.D.” Hudson on November 19, 1977, in her grandparents’ living room in Palmyra, IL. After graduating in 1978, Robin joined J.D. at his army duty station in Germany, where they later had their first daughter, Brandee Nicol Bloome, on August 23, 1979. Robin traveled around the country with J.D. during his service in the army and navy, and they later had their second daughter, Lindsay Dawn Lavin, in Long Beach, CA on May. 20, 1983. Robin and J.D. were married 48 years, sharing a love and life admired and desired by all. To know Robin was to love Robin. Robin was a devoted military wife and homemaker. As a military wife, Robin was the best of the best. She served as an ombudsman, where she spent her days advocating for and communicating with other military families. Robin was a long-time Christmas fanatic, always throwing the grandest Christmas parties on base and spoiling her family with mountains of gifts. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, with her specialty being homemade noodles, and took great pride in her gardening and cleaning. Robin also spent 8 years in home healthcare with Illinois Valley, before “retiring” to care for her first and only granddaughter, Madalynn Belle Bloome. If there was ever a title befitting for Robin, it was “caregiver,” for anything she did in life she did with care for those around her. Robin was preceded in death by her father, Peter Greenan of Spokane, WA, and her sister, Teresa Ralston of Palmyra, IL. Robin is survived by her husband, J.D. Hudson of Carlinville, IL, mother, Isla Holliday of Palmyra, IL, daughter, Brandee (Jacob) Bloome of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Lindsay (Brooke) Lavin of Plant City, FL, granddaughter, Madalynn Bloome of Carlinville, IL, grandson, Chase Orona of Plant City, FL, grandson-of-choice, Xai (Natalie) DePew of Springfield, IL, sister, Sherry (Larry) Clark of Virden, IL, sister, Angela (Doug) Carnes of Virden, IL, mother-in-law, Carla Hudson of Springfield, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
