Obituary of Jo Ann Burke-Fullington

Jo Ann Burke-Fullington, 70, of Carlinville, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at her home in Carlinville, IL surrounded by loved ones. Jo was born September 30, 1955, in Carlinville, IL, the youngest daughter of Lester Scharfenberg and Virginia (Jenkins) Scharfenberg. Jo attended beauty school after high school then she went to Brown's business school. She spent most of her years as a correctional officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections and retired after 26 years there. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Jo found a strong faith and many friends through attending Charity Baptist Church. She is a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and is already in eternity with Him. Jo was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Janet K. Scharfenberg, sister, Judith Mae Fullington, and brother-in-law, Rich Rosetti. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Charity Baptist Church, Carlinville, IL. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday,May 12, 2026 at Charity Baptist Church, Carlinville. Burial will follow in Charity Cemetery, Carlinville, IL. Jo is survived by her husband, Bill Fullington of Carlinville, IL, daughter, Lori (Jeff) Brown of Carlinville, IL, son, John (Maggie) Fullington of Litchfield, IL, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother, Terry (Joan) Scharfenberg, brother, Ted Scharfenberg, sister, Jerilyn Rosetti, sister, Joyce (Roy) Emmons of Carlinville, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Charity Baptist Church. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
