She was born on September 1, 1929, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George and Marguerite Buche. She delighted in creating meaningful gifts to share with her family, leaving behind treasured pieces of her heart and talent. She loved her time in the classroom and took pride in shaping the lives of her students, many of whom carried her influence well beyond their school years. In January 1949, Lucille married James Mahkovtz in Carlinville, Illinois. They shared many years together before his passing in October 1976. Together, they raised four children. On February 17, 1985, she married David Ramsey, with whom she shared more than three decades until his passing in August 2018. She is also lovingly remembered by her stepchildren: David Ramsey, Robert Ramsey, John Ramsey, and Jim Ramsey. Lucille's legacy continues through her seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched with her love, kindness, and wisdom. Lucille's greatest joy was her family.
