Patricia Elaine (Tate) Clark, 89, of Hettick, Illinois, passed away on March 10, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Pat was born May 15, 1935, in Hettick, Illinois, the third daughter of Leroy and Ola Tate. She graduated from Northwestern High School with the class of 1953, and married Lloyd "Buck" Clark, her high school sweetheart, on July 4, 1953, in Hettick, IL, while Buck was home on leave from the U.S. Air Force. They were married 71 years.
Pat was mother to three sons: Steven (Pam) Clark of Livonia, MI; Thomas (Mary) Clark of Palmyra, IL; and Edward (Ann) Clark of Modesto, IL. She was grandmother to Daniel (Tiffany) Clark of Arvada, CO; Erin Clark of Greenville, NC; William (Rachel) Clark of Plymouth, MI; Rachel (Ty) Rohrer of Wadsworth, IL; Adam (Megan) Clark of Big Rapids, MI; Rena Szakaly of Stanford, NC; Kayla (AJ) Reif of Hettick, IL; and Megan (Kyle) Shutz of Kingwood, TX.
Pat thoroughly enjoyed her great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Olivia Clark; Charles and Connor Clark; Caiden, Emily, and Haddelyn Clark; Samuel Clark; Landon and Lucy Szakaly; Nora and Lydia Reif; and Delaney Shutz. Also surviving is one sister, Joyce Cooksey of Hettick, IL, and nieces Peggy Anderson, Tammy Dugan, and Janna Tetzlaff.
Pat served as the Hettick, IL, Postmaster for a number of years before retiring in 1995 and had formerly been active in the Hettick Community Club. She was always preparing food for those in the community and was known for coconut cream and chocolate meringue pies as well as her beautiful hand-knitted lace doilies.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Donna Sonneborn, and her great-granddaughter, Caroline Clark.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, 2:30 to 5:30 pm at Gilead Baptist Church, Hettick, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 5:30 pm, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Gilead Baptist Church, Hettick.
Burial will follow in Gilead Baptist Cemetery, Hettick, IL.
Memorials may be made to Hettick Community Club, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
