Betty Clevenger, 83, of Carlinville, passed away Friday afternoon, August 13, 2021 at Heritage Health Care in Carlinville. Betty was born on January 20, 1938 to Archie and Susan (Pitchford) Spencer in Greenfield, IL. She had three siblings, Charles, Marie and Virginia. She married Howard "Shorty" Clevenger on October 1, 1992 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1994. Betty was a housewife and homemaker. She was an amazing cook and loved sewing, gardening and fishing. Betty was a long time member of Charity Baptist Church in rural Carlinville and most of all loved her children and grandchildren. Betty is survived by her son, Albert "Pete" Stults of Bluffton, IN; daughter, Patricia (companion Raymond Turner) Stevens of Roodhouse, IL; daughter, Carla Macrander of Jacksonville, IL; son, George Rowe of Springfield, IL; son, Clint (Marie) Rowe of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Carrie Daugherty of Carlinville, IL, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Rhodus officiating. Memorials are suggested to John L. Meyer VFW Post #1104 or Wounded Warriors. Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville is in charge of arrangements.
