Henrietta Talkington, 91, of Virden, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 6, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. Henrietta was born January 14, 1929, in Thayer, IL, a daughter of Henry and Mina Barstow Peters. Henrietta graduated from Virden High School with the class of 1946. Henrietta worked in the insurance business most of her life. She had been employed at Northwestern Insurance in Springfield, Vernon Smith Insurance and Smith -Brown Insurance both in Virden, IL. She retired from Virden Sanitary District as a secretary. Henrietta was a lifetime member of the Virden United Methodist Church and was active in the Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and PEO Chapter EJ. Henrietta was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Nancy Talkington, and sister, Harriet Boyd. Graveside services will be conducted at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Virden Cemetery with Rev. Mark Doane. Henrietta is survived by her son, Mark Talkington of Springfield, IL.
