Obituary of Eilene Kruse

Eilene Kruse, 87, of Girard, IL, formerly of Virden, IL, passed away Saturday morning, March 28, 2020 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Eilene was born on October 10, 1932 to Everett and Pauline (Loveless) Lowder in Lowder, IL. On June 12, 1965 she married George A. Kruse at the Methodist Church in Waverly, IL. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2002. Eilene taught swimming lessons to adults and children, as well as her own children and grandchildren. She loved to maintain her home, and collecting all sorts of things. Eileen was a member of West Side Christian Church in Springfield where she was loved by the congregation. She was a true matriarch of her family and enjoyed spending time cooking, reading, and working in her flower garden. Eilene is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Sabo of Springfield, IL; daughter, Kathy Kruse of Imperial, MO; son, George (Carol) Kruse of Girard, IL; son, Daniel Sabo of Palmyra, IL; daughter, Julie (Rev. Mark) Richison of Mt. Carmel, IL; daughter, Dee (Brad) Reese of Auburn, IL; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Wasilewski of Athens, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews. Eilene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gary Kruse; 1 grandson, and 5 brothers. Private graveside services will be held with her son-in-law, Rev. Mark Richison officiating.
