Dear family,

My sympathy to everyone. Rae brought joy and sunshine to all in the Cherry and Mulberry st.area. She always took the time to share and care with her love for us. We are grateful for having known her.

Tom, remembering our shows and fairs in your backyard. We spend many summers under the walnut tree eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and drinking Koolaid. Those are precious memories.

Rae was a significant & joyful part of the childhood of many of us in the Mulberry/Cherry Street neighborhood. And through the years she remained friendly, lively, & always an interesting & humorous conversationalist. I visited with her several years ago & she was still the same--enjoying her life & her family in a delightfully positive manner. She was a special lady, with a practical intelligence & a caring heart. Rae Hartley will be truly missed.

I am sorry to hear of Rae’s passing. She was my Girl Scout leader on our trip to New York and Washington D.C. in 1968. She was fun, bubbly and a joy to be around. Her sense of humor was what we all enjoyed the most. Rest I. Peace Rae.
